Natasa

Natasa is a South Slavic short form of Natalija, itself derived from the Latin name Natalia, meaning born on Christmas Day or relating to birth, from the Latin natalis meaning natal or of birth. The name became widely used across Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and North Macedonia as an everyday vernacular form of the longer Latinate name. It is essentially equivalent to the Russian Natasha, which spread internationally through literature and popular culture, and both forms share roots with Natalie and Natalja.
