Phoebe

Phoebe is the Latinized form of the Greek name Phoibe, derived from phoibos, meaning bright or pure. In Greek mythology, Phoibe was a Titan associated with the moon and with the oracle at Delphi, and the name was also used as an epithet of Artemis in her role as goddess of the moon. The name appears in the New Testament as that of a deaconess praised by Paul in his Letter to the Romans, which helped sustain its use in the Christian tradition. Related forms include Phoebus, the masculine equivalent applied to Apollo as a solar deity.
