Scilla

Scilla is an Italian feminine name derived from the ancient Greek Skylla, itself of uncertain pre-Greek origin, possibly related to a word meaning to rend or tear. In Greek mythology, Scylla was a sea monster dwelling in a narrow strait opposite the whirlpool Charybdis, famously encountered by Odysseus in Homer's Odyssey.
