Priscilla is a Latin name, a diminutive of the Roman family name Priscus, which derives from the Latin word meaning ancient or venerable. It appears in the New Testament as the name of a early Christian woman, Priscilla, who was a companion and fellow missionary of the apostle Paul, which helped establish the name throughout Christian Europe.
