Steven

Steven is an English given name derived from the Greek Stephanos, meaning crown or wreath, itself rooted in the verb stephein, to encircle or wreathe. The name was borne by Saint Stephen, venerated in Christian tradition as the first martyr, which helped spread it widely throughout medieval Europe.
