Zaccharias

Zaccharias is a Biblical Latin form of the Greek name Zacharias, itself derived from the Hebrew name Zekharyah, meaning God has remembered, from the elements zakhar (to remember) and yah (a short form of the divine name Yahweh). The name appears in the New Testament as that of the father of John the Baptist, a priest who received the announcement of his son's birth from the angel Gabriel.
