Adalberht is an Old High German masculine name composed of the elements adal, meaning noble, and beraht, meaning bright or famous, together conveying the sense of nobly bright or illustrious through nobility. It was borne by several early medieval figures, most notably Saint Adalbert of Prague, the tenth-century bishop and martyr who became a patron saint of Bohemia, Poland, and Hungary.
