Adella

Adella is a Latinate elaboration of Adela, itself derived from the Old High German element adal, meaning noble. The name became popular in medieval Europe partly through the influence of Adela of Normandy, daughter of William the Conqueror, and spread further during the nineteenth-century vogue for feminine names with the -ella suffix. Closely related forms include Adele, Adeline, Adelaide, and Della.
