Adrianna

Adrianna is a feminine Latinate elaboration of Adriana, itself the feminine form of the Roman family name Hadrianus, meaning from Hadria, an ancient town in northern Italy whose own name may relate to the Adriatic Sea. The name gained wide use across Europe through the fame of the emperor Hadrian, who ruled Rome in the second century. Adrianna is particularly common in Polish-speaking countries alongside the simpler Adriana, and both forms share cognates such as Adrienne in French and Hadria in older Latin usage.
