Adrianne

Adrianne is a feminine form of Adrian, which derives from the Latin name Hadrianus, meaning "from Hadria," a town in northern Italy that also gave its name to the Adriatic Sea. The place name Hadria is of uncertain pre-Latin origin, possibly Etruscan or Illyrian. The masculine form Adrian was widely spread through Europe largely due to the veneration of the early Christian martyr Saint Adrian of Nicomedia and the prominence of several popes bearing the name.
