Drina

Drina is an English diminutive form of Alexandrina, itself a Latinate feminine elaboration of Alexander, which derives from the ancient Greek name Alexandros, composed of the elements alexein, meaning to defend, and aner, meaning man. The name gained some independent use in the English-speaking world, particularly in the nineteenth century, as Drina was the childhood nickname of Queen Victoria, whose full baptismal name was Alexandrina Victoria.
