Albie

Albie is an English diminutive of Albert, which derives from the Old High German name Adalbert, composed of the elements adal, meaning noble, and beraht, meaning bright or famous. The name gained widespread use in English-speaking countries partly through the popularity of Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria, and has long served as an affectionate short form in British usage.
