Anastasiia

Anastasiia is the Ukrainian form of the Greek name Anastasia, derived from the Greek word anastasis, meaning resurrection. The name became widespread in the Christian world through veneration of Saint Anastasia of Sirmium, a fourth-century martyr honoured in both Eastern and Western churches. It has been particularly popular in Slavic Orthodox cultures, especially in Russia and Ukraine, where the shortened forms Nastia and Nastya are common.
