Eliso

Eliso is a Georgian feminine name, a form of the Hebrew name Elisheba, meaning something along the lines of my God is an oath or my God is abundance. It is best known in Georgia through the tragic heroine of Aleksandre Qazbegi's celebrated nineteenth-century novella Eliso, which cemented the name's romantic and literary associations in the Caucasus.
