Filip

Filip is the Scandinavian, Dutch, Slavic, Romanian, and Finnish form of Philip, derived from the ancient Greek name Philippos, composed of the elements philos, meaning friend or lover, and hippos, meaning horse, giving the overall sense of one who loves horses. The name was borne by Philip II of Macedon, father of Alexander the Great, and later spread widely through Europe via the apostle Philip and several European monarchs.
