Kev

Kev is an English familiar form of Kevin, itself derived from the Irish name Caoimhín, composed of the Old Irish elements caomh, meaning gentle or handsome, and a diminutive suffix. It arose as an informal short form widely used in Britain and Ireland, reflecting the strong popularity of Kevin throughout the twentieth century. Caoimhín, Kevin, and Kev all share the same Gaelic root.
