Lovis

Lovis is a Swedish feminine form of the Old Frankish name Hludwig, composed of the elements hlud, meaning famous or renowned, and wig, meaning war or battle. The name reached Scandinavia through the French form Louise and its masculine counterpart Louis, which themselves descend from the Latinized Ludovicus.
