Marielle

Marielle is a French and Dutch diminutive form of Marie, itself the French form of Maria, which derives from the Hebrew name Miryam, whose meaning remains debated but is often interpreted as "sea of bitterness," "beloved," or "rebellious." The diminutive suffix gives the name an affectionate, softened quality that made it especially popular in French-speaking regions during the twentieth century.
