Maritta

Maritta is a Finnish and Scandinavian diminutive form of Maria, which derives from the Hebrew name Maryam, itself of debated origin but commonly associated with meanings such as "beloved," "bitter," or "drop of the sea." The name gained widespread use across Europe through veneration of the Virgin Mary in Christian tradition.
