Robertina

Robertina is a Spanish and Italian feminine diminutive of Roberto, itself the Latinate form of the Germanic name Robert, composed of the elements hrod, meaning fame, and beraht, meaning bright. The name thus carries the sense of bright fame or shining renown. Robert was widely popularized across medieval Europe through the Normans, and its many derivatives, including Roberta, Robbie, and Robertina, followed naturally from that tradition. Robertina remains rare today but continues to appear occasionally in Spanish- and Italian-speaking communities.
