Robertus

Robertus is the Latinized form of the Germanic name Robert, composed of the elements hrod, meaning fame, and beraht, meaning bright. It was the standard scholarly and ecclesiastical Latin rendering used throughout medieval Europe, appearing in church records, legal documents, and chronicles wherever the vernacular Robert was in common use.
