Susan

Susan is an English form of Susanna, which derives from the Hebrew name Shoshannah, composed of the root shoshan, meaning lily (or possibly lotus). The name appears in the biblical Book of Daniel and in the deuterocanonical story of Susanna and the Elders, giving it longstanding religious significance.
