Tessie

Tessie is an English diminutive of Tess, itself a short form of Theresa, a name of uncertain ancient origin possibly derived from the Greek island of Thera or from a Greek root meaning to harvest or to reap. It came into broader use as an affectionate everyday form of Theresa and Tessa during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, particularly in Britain and Ireland.
