Timo

Timo is a Finnish, Estonian, German, and Dutch short form of Timotheus, itself derived from the ancient Greek name Timotheos, composed of the elements time, meaning honor or respect, and theos, meaning god, giving the overall sense of one who honors God. The name was borne by Saint Timothy, a companion and co-worker of the apostle Paul, which helped spread its use throughout Christian Europe.
