Viktoriya

Viktoriya is the Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, and Belarusian feminine form of the Latin name Victoria, derived from the root victoria meaning victory. It corresponds to the Roman goddess of victory and became widely used across the Christian world in part through Saint Victoria, a Roman martyr. The name gained further prominence through Queen Victoria of Britain, whose reign made it fashionable throughout the 19th century. Closely related forms include Viktoria, Victoria, and Vittoria.
