Caitria

Caitria is an Irish form of Katherine, ultimately derived from the Greek name Aikaterine, whose precise root remains debated but is often associated with the Greek word katharos, meaning pure. It is a variant of the more widely used Irish form Caitríona, which itself corresponds to the Scottish Gaelic Catriona and the Latin Catharina. The name gained widespread use across Europe largely through devotion to Saint Catherine of Alexandria, a Christian martyr venerated since the early medieval period.
