Conor

Conor is an Anglicized form of the Irish name Conchobar, which is thought to derive from Old Irish elements meaning dog lover or possibly high will or desire. The name was borne by several early Irish kings, most famously Conchobar mac Nessa, the legendary king of Ulster in the Ulster Cycle of Irish mythology who figures prominently in the tales surrounding the hero Cú Chulainn. The name has remained in continuous use in Ireland and has grown popular in the wider English-speaking world.
