Hristo

Hristo is the South Slavic, particularly Bulgarian and Macedonian, form of the Greek name Christos, derived from the Greek word christos meaning anointed one, itself a translation of the Hebrew title Mashiach (Messiah). The name refers directly to Jesus Christ in Christian tradition and has been widely used in Orthodox Christian communities throughout the Balkans.
