Stipan

Stipan is the Croatian form of Stephen, ultimately derived from the ancient Greek name Stephanos, meaning crown or wreath. The Greek root stephanos referred literally to a garland worn as a mark of honor or victory. The name was borne most famously by Saint Stephen, the first Christian martyr, whose veneration helped spread the name throughout Europe.
