Stipe

Stipe is a Croatian short form of Stjepan, the South Slavic equivalent of Stephen, which derives from the Greek Stephanos, meaning crown or wreath. The Greek name became widely adopted across Europe through the veneration of Saint Stephen, the first Christian martyr.
