Bettina

Bettina is an Italian and German diminutive of Elisabetta or Elisabeth, which traces back through Latin and Greek to the Hebrew name Elisheba, meaning something along the lines of "my God is abundance" or "my God is an oath." The name gained particular cultural resonance through Bettina von Arnim, the nineteenth-century German Romantic writer and composer, who helped popularize it in German-speaking lands.
