Hendrina

Hendrina is a Dutch feminine given name derived from the Germanic name Heimrich, composed of the elements heim, meaning home or estate, and ric, meaning power or ruler, giving the overall sense of ruler of the home. It developed as a Latinate feminization of Hendrik, the Dutch and Low German form of Henry, and was used especially in the Netherlands and South Africa during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
