Josefine

Josefine is the Scandinavian and German form of Josephine, itself a French feminine diminutive of Joseph, which derives from the Hebrew name Yosef, meaning he will add or God will increase. The name entered widespread European use following the fame of Joséphine de Beauharnais, the first wife of Napoleon Bonaparte, whose influence helped popularize feminine forms of Joseph across the continent.
