Marge

Marge is an English diminutive of Margaret, which traces back through Latin and Greek Margarita to a word meaning pearl. The name has been in familiar use as a nickname since at least the nineteenth century and gained wide cultural recognition through the character Marge Simpson in the long-running American animated series The Simpsons. It is also used independently as a given name in Estonian. Related forms include Margie, Maggie, and Margery.
