Virgee

Virgee is an English variant spelling of Virgie, itself a familiar form of Virginia or occasionally Virgie used as an independent given name. Virginia derives from the Latin family name Virginius or Verginius, of uncertain ultimate origin, though it has long been associated by folk etymology with Latin virgo, meaning maiden or virgin. The name gained wide use in the English-speaking world partly through the fame of Virginia Dare, the first English child born in the Americas in 1587.
